Anthony Lee Bowie (born November 9, 1963) is an American former professional basketball player. He is a former NBA shooting guard, most well-known for his stint with the Orlando Magic. With the Magic, Bowie became one of the summit bench players, often stepping in to find the keep for a spark and energy, timely baskets, and defensive stops. He is currently an Elementary School P.E coach.
After tall school, Bowie played moot basketball at Seminole State, from 1982 to 1984, and at Oklahoma, from 1984 to 1986.
Bowie was chosen in the third round (66th overall pick), of the 1986 NBA draft, by the Houston Rockets, out of the University of Oklahoma. After he bounced vis-а-vis in Europe, and in several youthful leagues, playing for the Rockets in the 1986 and 1987 preseason games, and for the New Jersey Nets, during the 1988 preseason, he debuted in the NBA, with the San Antonio Spurs in 1989. After the terminate of the 1988–89 season, San Antonio re-signed him, and traded him for cash, to the team that drafted him, the Rockets, where he played 66 games that season.
He spent the 1990–91 season in Italy, with Ranger Varese. During the 1991 off-season, he played for the Chicago Bulls. Later, in the 1991–92 season, Bowie was signed by the Orlando Magic, during a West Coast road trip, and he remained taking into consideration the team for five seasons. His tenure considering the Magic was his most productive. Along in imitation of Donald Royal, Bowie provided the Magic in the same way as a spark off the bench, and was often used to protect the opponent’s top offensive player.
