Frankie Alexander King (born June 6, 1972) is an American former professional basketball player. During his pro club career, at a peak of 6 ft 1 (1.85 m) tall, and a weight of 185 lbs. (84 kg), he played at the point protect and shooting guard positions. King played in the NBA, with the Los Angeles Lakers and Philadelphia 76ers.
King attended Appling County High, in Baxley, Georgia, where he played high school basketball. After high school, King played studious basketball at the former Brunswick College, which is now known as the College of Coastal Georgia, from 1991 to 1993. He subsequently played teacher basketball at Western Carolina University. At Western Carolina, he played later than the school’s men’s team, the Western Carolina Catamounts, from 1993 to 1995.
King was inducted into the Western Carolina Athletics Hall of Fame in 2013. In 2021, he was named to the Southern Conference’s men’s basketball 100 years anniversary team.
In the 1995 NBA draft, King was prearranged in the second round, with the 37th overall draft pick, by the Los Angeles Lakers. He played when the Lakers, in the 1995–96 season, and past the Philadelphia 76ers, in the 1996–97 season. King’s NBA career consisted of a sum of thirteen games played, six subsequent to the Lakers and seven taking into account the 76ers.
