Vincent Jerome Askew (born February 28, 1966) is an American former professional basketball performer who played for nine seasons in the National Basketball Association (NBA) for eight alternating teams. A 6’6″ guard-forward, Askew played scholarly basketball for Memphis State University. He was raised by his grandmother who had 13 children and custody of Askew and three cousins.
Askew was a Frayser High School graduate past enrolling at Memphis State University. He was a key player upon the Tigers’ 1984–85 squad that reached the Final Four. Askew was one of the more fixed idea players on the team, capable of banging next to low one possession and government the narrowing the next. Vincent Askew was named to the Metro All-Freshman Team.
